England Under-23 champion James Dasaolu boosted his hopes of an unlikely inclusion in the Great Britain team for July's European Team Championships.

The 21-year-old stormed to a stunning win over 100m in Geneva on Saturday in a personal best time of 10.09 seconds.

Dasaolu moved to joint second in the European rankings alongside Simeon Williamson, but behind Dwain Chambers' leading time of 10.06.

He saw off Harry Aikines-Aryeetey (10.17) and Craig Pickering (10.31).

The more experienced Chambers and Williamson will be the favourites for the individual spots at the newly-devised successor to the European Cup in Leiria from 20-21 June.

But Dasaolu could be a contender for the 4x100m relay team after also helping his team - including Pickering, Rikki Fifton and Aikines-Aryeetey - to a time of 38.55 on Saturday.

Fifton enjoyed a productive evening, replacing Chambers at the top of the continental rankings by posting a lifetime 200m best of 20.46, aided by a legal wind of 0.05.

The European U23 bronze medallist's time in the 'B' race was quicker than that of Marlon Devonish, who won the main race in 20.60.

Conrad Williams also achieved his best-ever 400m time of 45.70, but had to settle for second as Ireland's David Gillick won in 45.53.

Last summer's world junior silver medallist Ashlee Nelson won the women's 100m in 11.43, with Emily Freeman and Lee McConnell quickest in their 200m and 400m races with times of 23.09 and 51.98 respectively.
