The new Xbox 360 S console consumes 10% less power than existing Jasper Xbox 360s, GamerZines can reveal.
According to official statistics released by Microsoft, the new Xbox 360 only requires 135W of power while gaming, as opposed to the 150W the existing Jasper Xbox 360 requires.
According to Microsoft, the power consumption drops to just 1W when putting the new Slim 360 into standby, a whopping 50% reduction off the 2W the Jasper uses.
But it's still more than Sony's PlayStation 3 Slim which uses just 95W while gaming or watching a Blu-ray.
Microsoft's Xbox 360 S was officially announced last night, and sports a glossy redesign and whisper-quiet fan. It also features a 250GB HDD and integrated 802.11n WiFi.
So, if you want to save some money on your electricity bill or are just feeling green, be sure to snap up the new Xbox 360 when it launches in the UK next month.
