English: A MAC cryptosystem uses three algorithms: a random number generator (the die) to generate a secret key , to create a MAC for a message , and to verify the MAC.
Deutsch: Ein MAC-Kryptosystem besteht aus drei Algorithmen: einem Zufallszahlengenerator (symbolisiert durch den Würfel) um einen geheimen Schlüssel zu erzeugen, um zu einem Klartext einen MAC zu erzeugen, und , um den MAC zu verifizieren.

Diese Abbildung ist, wie viele andere, während einer Kryptographie-Vorlesung für Lehramts-Studierende im Wintersemester 2020/2021 an der Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel entstanden. Einige dieser Bilder beziehen sich ausschließlich auf Fallbeispiele aus der Vorlesung.
