The purpose of the Kennesaw State University Department of Archives is to identify, preserve, and make available records and papers of enduring value created or received by Kennesaw State University and its employees. Its primary mission is to preserve records documenting the organization and functioning of Kennesaw State University, including its establishment and its substantive programs. It also preserves records documenting significant people, things and events in the cultural life of the institution.

The goal of the Records Management Program is to promote and ensure the proper retention, maintenance, and disposal of records to satisfy the legal, fiscal and administrative needs of the University, and to provide assistance to staff with records management issues. Check back often for useful facts and tips on managing your department's records.

As the official repository for non-current University records, the Archives facilitates efficient records management and assists departments with the retention, disposal and transferal of records to assure that permanently valuable records are preserved.
