Overview

VCardMail is a cgi script (written in Perl for Unix) which: Your HTML form vCardMail cgi-script A vCard is sent as an email attachment
This program is based on the famous and excellent Matt's FormMail cgi script. All the features are preserved and the same rules apply to your HTML forms.

The plus is: You can specify the fields you want to include in a vCard, which you'll receive as an email attachment.

What is a vCard?

A vCard is an electronic business card intended to digitalize the exchange of personal information.

The specification was made by the Internet Mail Consortium (IMC) organization.

The current format is version 2.1. A new version 3 should be released soon. We will update the Perl cgi script accordingly.

I encourage you to give a look at the IMC's website: http://www.imc.org.

Benefits

A vCard received by an e-mail client -- such as Microsoft Outlook or Netscape Communicator -- in an email attachment can be directly transfered to the address book without any further formatting.

Receiving a vCard in Nestcape Communicator...

This view above shows the result with Netscape Communicator. The vcard is automatically detected and you just click on to add the contact to your address book!

Try our script! A running version of the script is hosted on our server, so give it a try!

Fill out the sample form and have a vCard sent to yourself.
