The cooperating NGOs Greek Helsinki Monitor (GHM) and Minority Rights Group-Greece (MRG-G) consider that Judgment 1448/2009 of the Fourth Political Division of the Supreme Court (Areios Pagos - published on 11 June 2009), rejecting the request for cassation by the “Home of Macedonian Civilization” against Decision 243/2005 of the Court of Appeal of Western Macedonia, is contrary to international law.

AMHRC: A brief review of ECRI’s fourth report on Greece

On 15 September 2009, the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) released its fourth monitoring report on Greece. The report is dated as covering the situation in Greece up to 2 April 2009. The findings of the report cannot be ignored or dismissed as insignificant for ECRI was established by the Council of Europe and is an “independent human rights monitoring body specialised in questions relating to racism and intolerance.”

Σύμφωνα με το νόμο το κόμμα μας είχε στη διάθεσή του μόνο ένα πεντάλεπτο που θα έπρεπε μεταδοθεί υποχρεωτικά από όλα τα κανάλια πανελλαδικής εμβέλειας.

MHRMI and AMHRC welcome the upcoming United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (UN CERD) review on Greece's compliance (or non-compliance) with the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD).
This will occur from August 10-11, 2009 in Geneva, Switzerland.

An EFA-Rainbow delegation attended the first annual UMD Global Conference, which was organized with great success last month in Washington, D.C.
During the three day conference, Athanassios Parisis, member of the EFA-Rainbow’s Political Secretariat had the opportunity to update the delegates and participants on all recent developments regarding the situation of the ethnic Macedonians in Greece, including the elections for the European Parliament, the launch of the first Greek-Macedonian dictionary and the unfortunate incidents that occurred during the launch.
