ALOHA, EDDIE!
JOHN BERGER / JBERGER@STARBULLETIN.COM
Veteran three-dot columnist Eddie Sherman, with leis, was the guest of honor Sunday as he celebrated his official retirement with a luncheon party at Ruth's Chris Steak House. Doug Mossman, left, Don Stroud, Dick Jensen, seated, Don Ho, Haumea Hebenstreit and Toni Jensen were among the 82 guests -- one for each year of Sherman's age -- who joined Eddie and his wife, Patti, for his big day. One guest joked that, "It's just like Eddie to invite us to lunch and have us pick up the check" (proceeds from the party were donated to the Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific). Sherman told the crowd that he isn't retiring from life, but after 50 years as a newspaper columnist is moving on to new projects.
