GAZA, (PIC)-- At least three Israeli violations of the fresh truce that was sponsored by Egypt in the Gaza Strip were recoded few hours after that truce started on Thursday as IOF troops opened their machinegun fire at Palestinian fishermen, and farmers.

Local Palestinian sources said that Israeli gunboats fired at Palestinian fishermen trying to earn a living, no casualties were recorded.

East of the southern city of Khan Younis, Israeli tanks and artillery fired at Palestinian farmers in the Khuza'a town who were, according to the sources, exploiting the truce to harvest their crops, in addition to another attack at homes of Palestinian villagers in Qarara town, east of the city,  but no casualties were reported in both Israeli attacks.

The Hebrew media acknowledged the IOF troops' violation of the truce, alleging that the Palestinian fishermen were fishing in a "prohibited" zone, prompting, the Hebrew source added, the Israeli navy to shoot at them. The sources, however, didn’t explain the shooting in Qarara village.

Achievement for Hamas:
Meanwhile, Israeli political analysts agreed that the truce was a big achievement for Hamas Movement "by all standards", opining that the Movement would enhance its military power during the truce period.

Alex Fishman, the military analyst in the Hebrew Yedioth Ahronoth, said that the truce agreement will be enhanced further despite the statements of Israeli political and military leaders that the truce was fragile and temporary.

He added that the Israeli side was forced to abandon its demands of linking the case of captured IOF corporal Gilad Shalit to the truce; yet, he added, the only thing that could be considered an achievement for Israel was the Egyptian pledge to go against smuggling of weapons into Gaza Strip through the tunnels at the Gaza-Egypt borders.

For his part, military analyst in the Hebrew Maarive newspaper Amir Rapaport asserted that Hamas succeeded in imposing its conditions on the Israeli party by keeping the case of Shalit outside the agreement, adding that the attrition tactics that Hamas used against Israel succeeded in forcing Israel to lift the siege on Gaza crossing points which, he pointed out, would enhance Hamas's position in the international arena as a strong Movement on the ground.

He also seconded Fishman expectations that Hamas would strengthen its military force by manufacturing more weapons, and training its fighters that, he underlined, would cost the IOF troops higher price if they attempted to invade Gaza.

Furthermore, Rapaport highlighted that the truce agreement would send clear message to the Arab world that Israel understands only the language of force, describing the calm as "big blow" to PA chief Mahmoud Abbas, who, the Israeli journalist underlined, had been negotiating with the Israelis for long time but reaped no fruits out of those negotiations.
