Priyanka Chopra first single inspired by her life

The actor’s first single, In My City, pays homage to her nomadic childhood and marks her journey from small-town girl to famous face. Few know that actor Priyanka Chopra’s father is an a former army doctor and that she spent her childhood in many places like Jamshedpur, Delhi, Pune, Lucknow,
Bareli, Ladakh, Chandigarh and Ambala.

Paying homage to this experience, she has decided to release the first song from her debut music album — In My City, which depicts her journey from a small-town girl to a big Bollywood star.

A source close to Priyanka reveals that the song is very dear to her and she preferred to release this one first to give her fans a taste of her album’s theme.

“In My City is very close to my heart. It celebrates the contribution of all these cities to my life making me the nomad that I am,” says Priyanka.

The song will be released on Thursday, during the Thursday Night Football broadcast on NFL Network, an American channel that telecasts the US National Football League games.

The Agneepath lead star, who is trained in Western classical music, has a melodious voice and has admitted to always wanting to be be a singer.

That’s why she signed a recording agreement with the music company Universal Music Group (UMG) and Desi Hits!, a fusion entertainment platform. Over the past few months, she has been shuttling between India and the US frequently to work on this album.
