Vice-Chair –  Lord McFall
John McFall was appointed to the House of Lords after a 23 year career as the Member of Parliament for Dumbarton and later West Dunbartonshire. He served as a junior minister in the early years of the most recent labour Government and was appointed Chairman of the Treasury Select Committee in 2001. He developed a reputation as an effective and influential chairman. He oversaw the work of the committee throughout the 2008-09 global financial crisis.

Vice- Chair – Tony Baldry MP
Tony Baldry is a long-term supporter of Apgood and first joined Parliament 3 years before the group’s formation in 1983. He served in a number of junior ministerial positions during both the Thatcher and Major Governments including time spent as a Minister at the FCO, where he also had responsibility for International Development in the House of Commons. Tony is a former Chair of the Select Committee on International Development and has a well-established interest in foreign affairs; sitting on the council of the Overseas Development Institute and Chatham House.

Treasurer – Tom Clarke MP
Tom Clarke was first elected in 1982 and served as an opposition spokesperson on development issues during that decade. He is best known in development circles for having steered the International Development Bill onto the statute book in 2006. The Act received royal assent on 25th July 2006, and enshrines in legislation the UK Government’s commitment to give 0.7% of Gross National Income (GNI) in overseas aid by 2013, and tracks the progress of Government policy towards reaching the Millennium Development Goals.

Secretary – Nicola Blackwood MP
Nicola Blackwood was elected the Member of Parliament for Oxford West and Abingdon in 2010. Having worked on aid projects in the Middle East her experience led her to a role advising the Conservative Party’s International Development team. This was a role which built Nicola’s experience of development work across Africa.
