Census 2011

The Census of Population and Housing is a nationwide exercise which is generally carried out every ten years. It is an official measure of persons, households and dwellings in Malta and Gozo, taken at a point in time. Official censuses in Malta date back to 1842, with the 2011 Census being the 17th in the series.

Census Day is Sunday, 20 November 2011. All information given in the census questionnaire must be correct as on this day.

Preliminary Report
 

The decennial Census of Population and Housing is a rich and important source of information about the count, characteristics, composition and condition of the resident population of Malta. The 2011 Census was held across all 27 European Union Member States and was the second Census to be taken in Malta in six years.
