Announcement was made by William Hodrick, president of BHHS Hodrick Realty, of those sales associates of the firm who had qualified for the prestigious Diamond Club Quarterly Sales Award for the 4th quarter of 2014.
According to a news release, the award is presented to those sales associates who have achieved a high level of closed transactions during the quarter.
“I am exceptionally proud of the outstanding work of these sales associates,” Hodrick stated. Receiving the award were Chris Wallace, Karen Newcomer, Michael Kuriga, Jim Shaible and Jodi Wolfe.
The company’s Masters Circle Award for the 4th Quarter were awarded to the sales associate in the company with top production in each of the following categories: Chris Wallace for listings taken, Michael Kuriga for opened sales, and Karen Newcomer for closed sales volume.
Additionally, the monthly award for the sales associate with top production in listings and top sales award for the month of December was presented to Chris Wallace. “Chris is an outstanding sales professional who is an asset to our company. Yet, the real winners are the real estate consumers she works with tirelessly to fulfill their real estate needs,” Hodrick said.

The Hilton Head Public Service District Commission has selected Pete Nardi as the utility’s next general manager, according to a news release.
Nardi began work for the district in 2004 as its human resources manager. He was promoted to assistant general manager in 2013.
“Pete has been a key part of our leadership team, helping to create the organizational culture that will carry” the district into the future, Bob Manne, commission chairman, said. “With his knowledge of utility management and our service area’s needs, we are fortunate to have an individual of Pete’s caliber within our organization to ensure a seamless transition with no disruption to our strategic objectives.”
Nardi, a native of Williamsport and 1992 graduate of Williamsport Area High School, is a member of the American Water Works Association’s National Workforce Strategies Committee, as well as the South Carolina American Water Works Association/Water Environment Association of South Carolina’s Joint Emergency Preparedness Committee. He holds a master’s degree from West Virginia University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont. He also earned a certified manager certification from James Madison University’s College of Business.
He lives in Hilton Head with his wife Amy, and their two children.

Tanya Tolomay has been named state Department of Transportation’s district office Employee of the Month for January 2015, according to a news release.
Tolomay was working as a purchasing agent for the district fiscal unit when, in January 2014, she took a temporary reassignment as materials coordinator with the plant maintenance unit. Although new to that unit, she monitored the district’s salt inventory to ensure adequate material was on hand during a near record season for salt use.
In August, Tolomay was promoted permanently to materials coordinator in plant maintenance. She worked diligently to learn the duties of her new position while continuing to assist with her former duties as district purchasing agent until the vacancy is filled.
According to the news release, because of her extensive knowledge and experience as a purchasing agent, Tolomay was asked to assist with district’s purchasing needs, as well. She also assisted that district in developing a workflow process for contracting roadside activities such as mowing, tree trimming and herbicide treatment.
She volunteered this year to serve in the district’s Incident Command Center.
Although she has maintained a very heavy workload since last January, Tolomay has performed that work in an energetic and positive manner. She maintains a pleasant attitude and willingness to help others, the news release said.
Tolomay, a 19-year PennDOT employee, lives in South Williamsport with her husband Christopher and daughters Madison and Carson.

The Children’s House/Children’s Advocate Center in Towanda announces that Kathryn Van DeWark of Pine City, New York. has joined its team as a Family Advocate, according to a news release.
In her new role, Van DeWark will work closely with the Multi-disciplinary Team and other partnering agencies to reduce trauma to children who experienced abuse and their families by providing a safe and supportive environment. She was previously employed for the Chemung County Children’s Advocacy Center in Elmira, New York.
“We are pleased and delighted to welcome Katy to our team of dedicated professionals. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with her from her time at the Chemung County center that will benefit the children, families and Bradford and Sullivan County.” said Director Edith Jordan. “Child abuse is a hard thing to talk about – we don’t want to believe that children are abused in our own communities. But as hard as it is for adults to talk about, how much harder is it for a child?” Jordan added.

Timberhaven Log Homes has awarded Harry Miele the top selling Corporate Sales Achievement Award and Bob Romano the top selling National Sales Achievement Award for the fourth quarter of 2014, a news release said.
Miele has served as a log home dealer for nearly 15 years. Miele, the news release said, performed stellar customer service as he assisted customers with the design, pricing, material selections and coordination of all aspects of multiple log home package sales during this final quarter of the year.
Romano is an independent sales representative in Wind Gap and has served as a log home dealer for nearly 15 years. Romano, according to the news release, also performed stellar customer service as he assisted customers.

Frank Weaver joins Hartman Employee Benefits as director of client services. He will be responsible for the management of the firm’s customer service/account management operation, including the staff committed to this service. He will assume the lead service role for designated large accounts. Weaver also is charged with leading a review of client technology solutions, including benefit administration and private marketplace solutions.
Weaver was raised in New Cumberland, and is a graduate of Harrisburg Area Community College. He earned a degree in accounting and holds a state insurance license in accident and health. Weaver has worked in the insurance industry since 2008. He served as a broker account manager in the wholesale side of benefits and a benefits consultant to retail clients.
He enjoys golf, home improvement projects, and spending time with friends and family. He also is an active volunteer with the Twin Valley Soccer League. He resides in Halifax with his wife, their two daughters and two cats.

Bank names executive vice president
Stan R. Dunsmore, a banking executive with 30 years of experience, has been named executive vice president and chief credit officer for Citizens & Northern Bank. Dunsmore succeeds Dawn A. Besse, who retired at the end of December, according to a news release.
Dunsmore holds his bachelors degree from Lock Haven University. He joined the former Citizens Trust Co., now Citizens and Northern Bank, in June of 1984. At Citizens Trust he served as branch manager of the Emporium office until 1996 when he was named chief lending officer, a position he held until 2007 when Citizens Trust Co. merged with Citizens and Northern.
Following the merger, Dunsmore was named Commercial Lending Team by Citizens and Northern’s board of directors at their December meeting. In his new position he will be responsible for the oversight and administration of the bank’s loan portfolio, the news release said. Dunsmore is working from the Wellsboro office.
Dunsmore and his wife, Sandra, live in Emporium and have three daughters.

Recently, Bob McCormick, president of Bob McCormick Ford in Lock Haven, visited Ford Motor Co.’s world headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan, where he had a chance to meet with Elena Ford and Bill Ford, a news release said.
McCormick was elected chairman of the Ford National Select Dealer Council for 2015 and 2016. The council is a forum for open dialogue between the 28 dealer council members and Ford Motor Co. For more than 12 years, McCormick has served on numerous committees and advisory boards for Ford Motor Co., Ford Credit, and as part of serving in these capacities, McCormick travels to Ford headquarters to meet with the company’s leadership team between eight and ten times a year.
While there, the news release said, he participates in discussions involving Ford’s products along with Ford’s approach to vehicle service and customer service that are designed to help Ford customers everywhere.
McCormick has been a Ford dealer for 29 years, starting in Hughesville and now in Lock Haven.

Matthew Landis, associate vice president and financial consultant, has earned his certificate of accreditation as a professional minerals and royalty asset manager. The CMM program is an educational course offered exclusively through the National Association of Royalty Owners. With his accreditation, Landis will partner with area mineral owners to ensure their oil and gas ownerships are being managed properly.
With more than seventeen years of industry experience, Landis is a certified trust and financial adviser and holds several Pennsylvania insurance licenses. He successfully completed programs through The Cannon Financial Institute’s Trust School and Retirement Sales School. He was employed by Gannon Associates and First Citizens Community Bank.
Landis acts as treasurer of the Canton Little League. He and his wife, Laura, have four children and reside in Troy. Landis works out of the Troy office.

The AAA North Penn Travel Agency held its annual meeting this past November. This year, according to a news release, three agents received special awards recognizing their achievements for 2014.
Cindy Welshans, from the South Williamsport office, was named Agent of the year for the first time in her career. Welshans has been with AAA for more than 45 years. She started her career in domestic travel by marking maps and designing trip tiks for our motoring members. She moved into the travel agency in the mid-90s. Her enthusiastic personality combined with extensive travel knowledge, the news release said, ensures that her customers will enjoy every minute of the trips she plans.
