We’re proud to be among the world’s top 100 supercomputers!

Director of Global IT at Opera

I’m proud of all the amazing things my team accomplishes every day. This time, however, it’s something very special. When we started the project of building an AI cluster for Opera last year, we knew it would be exciting. Little did we know back then that we’d build the 88th most performant supercomputer in the world (according to the HPL TOP 500 ranking - https://lnkd.in/du8RkF9T). And that’s a feat we’re very proud of! This project proved once more that with the right team of passionate colleagues and partners, anything is possible! I’d like to deliver a special thank you to all the amazing people who gave their very best over many months to make this happen. To the Opera Global IT team, for bravely jumping on board with our most ambitious DC deployment yet!  Katarzyna Różycka Jakub Jaszewski Marcin Adamski Damian Bulira Adam Loba Dominik Gorący Franciszek Przewoźny Franciszek Klajn Michal Grygar Konrad Tumulec Gbenga Ogunniran To multiple people across the whole Opera organization who supported us on every step! Lin Song Frode Jacobsen Krystian Zubel Joakim Kasbohm Aaron McParlan Kasia Bauer Mateusz Trachimowicz Julia Szyndzielorz Jan Standal To the #NVIDIA team, for a great journey from “Our goal is…” to “It’s alive!”  Danylo Prokhorenko Mark Hammarstedt Aleks Polak Robby van Roosmalen Carlo Ruiz Tim Shockley Rob Ord (and so many more!) To Nextron, PNY Technologies, and DDN Storage, for being true partners we could always count on, especially when  Murphy’s law struck :) Lasse Sandstone Barbalat Lionel To atNorth, for being a flexible and trustworthy partner, taking good care of our SuperPOD now and in the future, and for showing us that Iceland is a hospitable place despite volcanoes erupting in the neighborhood! Ægir Rafn Magnússon Thank you all. It’s been a privilege! You can also read a bit more about it on our blog here: https://lnkd.in/dTKuaKBu

Our latest AI Feature Drop is here, exclusively in Opera Developer! This update introduces several exciting new features: Writing Mode: Aria can now correct or tweak any text inside the Command Line without interrupting browsing. Once done, users can replace the old text with the new, having it populate the input field of the original page with the click of a button. Conversation Summarization: Conversations can quickly get long when engaging with AI, which is why we created summarization for conversations, where Aria can now summarize all previous answers into one clear and concise response! Linked Sources: Aria will now attach links to sites that were used to formulate it’s answer directly within responses (on the condition that access to the web was necessary to respond to the users prompt). These links are clickable, meaning users can easily explore the web and dig deeper into the sources used. These features can be accessed through Aria in the sidebar or via the command line (ctrl + / or cmd + /). If you want to stay at the forefront of the latest AI updates, you can download the Opera Developer browser from our website: Read more here: https://lnkd.in/dqAP5myn

We’re back with another AI Feature Drop - this time with two major updates! We’re excited to announce that Aria now has the ability to generate images and read out loud text responses in the Developer version of Opera One! 🎨 With this update, Aria can now turn users text prompts into unique images using the image generation model Imagen2 by Google! A built-in regenerate button means users can easily refine their images until Aria creates the perfect one! This update also enables Aria to read text answers out loud, utilising Google’s Wavenet model to generate human-like voice output. Users can get Aria speaking by simply hovering over the text response and clicking the speaker icon in the corner! These features can be accessed through Aria in the sidebar or via the command line (ctrl + / or cmd + /). To stay at the forefront of the latest AI updates and test these features out for yourself, you can download the Opera Developer browser from our website! https://lnkd.in/eQh9rCwC Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/e5RufBWF

We had a great time being part of NVIDIA’s biggest event of the year, the GTC24, by participating in the: "Global Innovators, Scaling Innovation with NVIDIA" panel. Opera’s Michał Tarnawski spoke about the deployment of our new, green energy-powered AI superpod in Iceland to scale Opera’s AI solutions. This wasn't just another talk on AI; it was a showcase of action and achievement by some of the most forward-thinking organizations out there.
