Zafar Class Fast Attack Boat
Iran acquired three Chaho class attack boats in the late 1980s from North Korea. The Iranian navy was reportedly unhappy with the quality of these units, replacing the weapons and engines between 1988 and 1993. The result was the Zafar Class. Iranian Zafar's are 82-ton displacement boats equipped with 23mm cannons (instead of the 14.5mm machine guns found on DPRK Chahos) and 122mm rockets using a launcher identical to that of the ground based BM-21 "Grad" system. The Zafar also has an I-Band search radar.
